Guided bike rides across the Rosengarten and Latemar region

The Rosengarten area was originally inhabited by a tribe of hard-working dwarves under their king, Laurin. His great pride was his beautiful rose garden, marked out by a silken thread. This is where he took the beautiful Princess Similde after he had carried her off. She was already betrothed to Hartwig, who asked Dietrich of Bern for help in getting back his bride. Dietrich and his warriors move into the mountains, tearing the silken thread and trampling the roses under their horses' hooves.
The dwarf king then appears on his white steed, with a glittering crown on his head. Armed with a magic hat, which can make him invisible, and a belt that gives him the strength of twelve men, he challenges them to combat. Laurin initially defeats Dietrich's champion, but is then defeated and taken prisoner, allowing Dietrich to tear the belt from his waist.

Similde is freed - albeit against her will - and Laurin is taken to Bern to suffer humiliating imprisonment. But he manages to escape and return to his rose garden, where he finds the bodies of his fallen men. Overcome by great sadness; he turns the entire rose garden to stone and pronounces a curse, whereby the roses are invisible by both day and night.

But he forgot to mention twilight, which is why the enchanted garden and its beautiful roses briefly bloom at dusk, in the Enrosadira. King Laurin has lived since then in his mountain-top redoubt, waiting for a new golden age when children and songbirds find the way back into his kingdom, heralding an age without deadly conflict or want.
